Top 5 Travel and Local Apps in New Zealand, Q4 2025

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top travel and local apps in New Zealand exhibited varying trends in downloads and active user engagement, according to Sensor Tower data.

Mobil New Zealand saw a steady climb in weekly downloads, starting from around 3.9K in early October and peaking at approximately 5.8K in mid-November. Active users increased steadily from 55.8K to over 60K by the end of December.

Air NZ experienced a peak in weekly downloads at the end of October with about 6.3K, followed by a decline towards the end of the quarter. Weekly active users fluctuated, with a notable peak in early December reaching over 320K.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel had a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with a significant rise in the last week of December to 5.5K. Active users showed an upward trend, hitting a high of 178.5K by the end of the year.

NZTD downloads decreased from an initial high of 6.1K at the start of October to around 3.5K by the end of December. Active users remained stable, averaging around 21K throughout the quarter.

ParkMate (NZ) maintained a steady download rate, with minor fluctuations, peaking at 4.3K in mid-November. Active users peaked in mid-December at about 29.4K before dropping to 19.2K by year-end.
