In the fourth quarter of 2025, the performance of the top tools apps in Romania showed diverse trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Bitdefender Mobile Security experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $7.1K in late November. Downloads rose steadily throughout the quarter, reaching around 3.9K at the end of December. Active users fluctuated, peaking at about 62K mid-November before declining to 47K by the end of the year.

NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy showed consistent weekly revenue, with a peak of $7K in early November. Downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around 2.5K towards the end of the quarter. Active users increased to approximately 39K in early November, followed by a decline to 30K by year-end.

Surfshark: Secure VPN service saw a gradual decline in weekly revenue from $4.7K in early October to about $3K by the end of December. Downloads varied throughout the quarter, peaking at 2.3K in late December. Active users increased steadily, reaching over 13K by the end of the year.

Proton VPN: Fast & Secure VPN maintained a stable revenue trend, with a slight peak at $2.3K in early December. Downloads increased significantly, reaching over 4K in the final week of the year. Active users grew from 25K at the start of the quarter to over 33K by December's close.

CT Pool: Crypto Mining App exhibited fluctuating revenue, peaking at $1.8K in late November. Downloads remained low but saw minor increases throughout the quarter. Active users remained stable, averaging around 600.
