In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top five social networking applications in El Salvador exhibited varied performance in terms of downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Threads from Instagram, Inc. experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 8.5K in mid-October and ending the year with around 8.4K. The app maintained a steady user base, with weekly active users hovering around 140K, reaching a high of about 145K by the end of December.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 16.8K and dipping to about 14.7K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users remained robust, consistently exceeding 2.2M throughout the quarter.

Google Meet displayed a significant spike in downloads in early October, reaching over 14K. However, the numbers stabilized around the 1K mark towards the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar trend, with a peak of approximately 14.6K in mid-October, before settling at around 5.3K.

Facebook also from Meta Platforms, Inc., maintained strong download numbers, starting at 26.5K and slightly decreasing to about 23.5K by year-end. The app’s active users remained consistently high, hovering around the 2.4M mark throughout the quarter.

Telegram Messenger saw a peak in weekly downloads in early October at over 12K, with a gradual decline to about 8K by December. Active users increased steadily, starting at 1.05M and closing the quarter at approximately 1.12M.
