In the fourth quarter of 2025, the performance of top news applications in Ireland showcased varying trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

The Irish Times News saw steady weekly revenue, peaking at around $28K at the end of November. Downloads had a notable increase, with 543 in the week of November 24. The active user base fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with approximately 33.9K users.

Irish Independent News experienced a peak in revenue mid-December, reaching about $25.2K, while downloads were highest in the week of October 20, with 499. Active users remained relatively stable, closing at around 31.9K.

The Guardian - US & World News had a significant revenue increase at the end of December, reaching approximately $27.4K. Downloads varied throughout the quarter, peaking at 516 in mid-December, and active users rose to about 15.1K by the end.

X showed a spike in revenue at the start of December, peaking at $14.3K. Downloads were highest at the beginning of October, with 5.3K, while active users remained strong throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 452K.

Lastly, NYTimes: US and Global News had consistent revenue growth, reaching $7.7K at the end of December. Downloads peaked in mid-December with 931, and active users grew to about 10.7K by the quarter's end.
