In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top five news applications on a unified platform in Austria demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, highlights the key trends for each app.

Die Presse experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $9.8K in mid-October, before settling around $7.8K by the end of December. Downloads showed a downward trend, starting at 444 weekly downloads and decreasing to 293. Active users increased from around 10.5K at the beginning of the quarter to 12K in early December, before declining slightly to 10.8K.

X saw its revenue peak at $13.8K in early December, with a notable dip to $3.3K in mid-December. The downloads varied, starting at 3.2K and ending at 4.1K. Active users fluctuated, with a high of approximately 336K in early December, closing the quarter at 327K.

Kleine Zeitung maintained a steady revenue, peaking at $7K in late November. Weekly downloads started at 514 and remained relatively stable, closing at 436. Active users increased from 17.5K to 21K in late November, but then decreased to 17K by the end of the quarter.

DIE ZEIT – Nachrichten showed stable revenue patterns, with a peak of $3.9K in early December. Downloads were consistent, with a slight increase to 304 by the end of December. Active users climbed from 6.9K to 8.4K over the quarter.

NZZ Nachrichten had revenue peaking at $4.7K at the start of the quarter, with a gradual decline to $3K by the end of December. Downloads showed a modest rise from 81 to 143, and active users increased from 1.8K to 1.9K.
