In the last quarter of 2025, the news and magazine app sector in Angola showcased diverse trends across its leading applications. This analysis, powered by Sensor Tower data, offers insights into the performance of the top five apps in this category.

Opera News: breaking & local saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 2.9K in the week ending December 22. Weekly active users also displayed an upward trend, rising from approximately 15.5K at the start of the quarter to over 18K by the end of December.

X maintained steady weekly downloads throughout the quarter, with a notable spike to about 2.8K in early December. The app's active user base remained robust, topping 200K by the end of the quarter, despite fluctuations during the period. Weekly revenue varied, reaching a high of $70 in the second week of December.

Zip News: Latest & Alerts experienced a decrease in downloads early in the quarter, with numbers dropping from over 2K to a low of 620 by mid-November. However, it rebounded towards the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar pattern, closing the quarter at over 3.1K.

Tomorrow's Affairs displayed an interesting trend in active users, peaking at over 10K mid-quarter. Downloads were inconsistent, with a significant jump to 3.1K in mid-November, before tapering off.
