Top Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in Romania Q4 2025

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the navigation and maps app sector in Romania showcased varied performance trends across the top applications. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, provides insights into downloads and active user trends for the top five apps.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong presence in the Romanian market, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 13.5K and 17.8K. Active users peaked at approximately 2.9M in late October, experiencing a slight decline to 2.5M by the end of December.

Live Earth Map & GPS Tracker saw a significant surge in downloads, starting from a modest 7 in early October to reaching over 20K in the final weeks of December. Active users mirrored this growth, rising from 61 to approximately 25.9K by the quarter's end.

Google Maps Go experienced consistent weekly downloads, mostly hovering around 6.6K to 8K. Active users showed robust engagement, peaking at over 8.2M in mid-December before a slight drop to 7.4M by the end of the year.

Google Earth had steady download numbers, ranging from 3.8K to 6.8K, with active users fluctuating between 79K and 113K. The app maintained a consistent user base throughout the quarter.

Drivers Chat experienced a significant drop in downloads over the quarter, starting at 16.7K and decreasing to just 667 by the end of December. Active user data was unavailable, but the download trend suggests a decline in user acquisition.
