In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top music and podcasts apps in the Netherlands showed varied performance metrics on a unified platform. According to Sensor Tower, these applications experienced fluctuations in downloads, active users, and revenue.

NPO Luister, published by Stichting Nederlandse Publieke Omroep, saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 230K in the last week of December. Weekly active users also rose sharply, reaching over 1M by December 22.

HITSTER from Koninklijke Jumbo B.V. recorded a notable rise in downloads, with a peak of 157K in the final week. Active users increased substantially, with numbers reaching around 734K in the week of December 22.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts demonstrated steady revenue growth, peaking at approximately $69K in the week of December 22. Downloads saw a temporary spike to around 47K in early December, while active users remained consistently above 4.7M throughout the quarter.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts experienced a gradual increase in downloads, reaching about 13K by December 22. Active users saw a peak of approximately 849K in the same week.

Podimo: Podcasts & audiobooks showed a decline in revenue towards the end of the quarter, ending at approximately $66K by December 29. Downloads remained relatively steady, while active users experienced a slight decline, finishing the quarter around 327K.
