In the fourth quarter of 2025, the sandbox game category on iOS in South Africa saw dynamic trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the top five games, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Minecraft: Dream it, Build it! from Mojang experienced a notable rise in weekly revenue, peaking at over $7.1K by the end of December. Downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around 300 per week, while active users increased from 2.3K to 3.4K throughout the quarter.

Roblox maintained a strong presence with revenue fluctuating around $1.4K. It saw a significant increase in downloads, reaching over 6.1K in December. Active users also increased, ending the quarter at approximately 157K.

OneState RP: Role Play Online showed a sharp increase in weekly downloads, peaking at over 3.1K in mid-December. Revenue also saw a high of $1.1K, while active users rose from 505 to 2.5K over the quarter.
