Top Film & Television Apps on iOS in New Zealand Q4 2025

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top film and television applications on iOS in New Zealand demonstrated varied performance trends. These insights, provided by Sensor Tower, highlight the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for each app.

Event Cinemas NZ showed a significant rise in weekly downloads, beginning with 643 in early October and peaking at 1.2K by the end of December. This steady growth indicates a strong user acquisition strategy.

Hoyts Cinemas also experienced an increase in downloads, starting at 606 in late September and reaching 953 by the close of the year. The upward trend in downloads suggests growing popularity among users.

For TodayTix – Broadway Tickets, weekly downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the low 100s. However, the app's active users saw a minor decline from 645 to 552 over the quarter.

Major Cineplex reported minimal download activity, with numbers barely reaching double digits. Active users did see a small increase, moving from 4 to 11 by the end of December.

Finally, 万达电影 observed low download numbers, starting at 15 and dropping to just 1 by the end of the period. Active users also decreased, beginning at 19 and ending the quarter with just 1.
