Top Communication Apps on Android in Central America, Q4 2025

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Central America exhibited varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Telegram showed a consistent rise in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $44K and peaking at $73K by the end of December. Downloads experienced a slight decline, beginning at around 180K and finishing at 143K. However, weekly active users remained robust, fluctuating between 20.3M and 22M.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out maintained steady growth in revenue, increasing from $16.7K to about $24K. Downloads saw a notable spike in the last week of December, reaching 115K. Active users gradually rose, ending the quarter at nearly 2.9M.

WhatsApp Business experienced a gradual increase in revenue, with figures climbing from $12.4K to $16.5K. Downloads remained relatively stable, averaging around 170K weekly, while active users exhibited a declining trend, dropping from 18.2M to 15.9M.

Cafe - Live video chat showed modest revenue growth, starting at $8K and reaching $9.9K. Downloads peaked at 19.8K mid-quarter before settling at 11.7K. Active users saw an increase in November, peaking at 31K, before declining towards the end of the quarter.

Threema. The Secure Messenger had stable revenue, fluctuating around $6K, with a slight dip towards the end of December. Downloads remained low, with minor fluctuations around 700 weekly. Active users showed a slight upward trend, peaking at 35.6K mid-quarter.
