Top 5 Entertainment Apps in South America: Q3 2024 Performance

In the third quarter of 2024, the top entertainment applications on the unified platform in South America showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Disney+ saw a notable progression in weekly revenue, peaking at around $1.1M in late September. Downloads were highest in early July at approximately 1.1M, with a declining trend towards the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated, reaching a high of 9.9M in mid-August before settling at 8.6M by the end of September.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies experienced a gradual decline in weekly revenue, starting at $765K in early July and tapering to $646K by the end of September. Downloads followed a similar downward trend, starting at 1M in early July and decreasing to 479K by the end of the quarter. Active users, however, increased steadily, reaching over 13.3M by the end of September.

Globoplay: Novelas, séries e + showed fluctuating revenue, with a peak of $783K in mid-July and a decline to $521K by late September. Downloads decreased from 387K in early July to 220K by the end of September. Weekly active users saw a decline from 7.2M at the start of the quarter to 5.8M by its end.

TikTok maintained strong weekly revenue, peaking at nearly $979K in early September. Downloads were consistently high, reaching a peak of 2.6M in early September. Active users remained stable, with a slight increase from 114.4M to 116.5M over the quarter.

Crunchyroll showed consistent weekly revenue, ending the quarter at $310K. Downloads decreased from 468K in early July to 258K by the end of September. Active users hovered around 2.9M towards the end of the quarter, after a slight dip in August.
