In the third quarter of 2024, the entertainment app market in Latin America showed diverse trends among the top five Android applications, based on Sensor Tower data. Here's a closer look at each app's performance.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies saw fluctuations in its weekly downloads, starting at around 1.1M in early July and gradually declining to approximately 547K by the end of September. Despite the dip in downloads, weekly revenue remained robust, peaking at about $428K in late September. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users increasing from about 15.7M to 17.2M throughout the quarter.

ShortMax - Watch Dramas & Show experienced a dramatic surge in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of nearly 2.8M in mid-September. This increase was mirrored in its revenue, which climbed from around $55K in early July to over $141K by late September. The app's weekly active users also saw a significant rise, growing from approximately 686K to over 3.7M.

Disney+ had a stable performance in terms of weekly revenue, maintaining figures around the $500K mark and peaking at $591K in late September. Downloads showed a downward trend over the quarter, starting at around 792K and ending at about 441K. However, the app kept a steady number of active users, fluctuating between 9.7M and 10.8M.

DramaBox - Stream Drama Shorts exhibited consistent weekly revenue, hovering between $84K and $110K. Downloads were volatile, starting at about 696K, dropping mid-quarter, and rising again to 701K at the end of September. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, beginning at around 967K and ending at approximately 1.6M.

Pluto TV: Watch Free Movies/TV had no revenue data, but its download numbers remained relatively stable, ranging from 553K to 701K over the quarter. The app's active user base saw a slight increase, starting at approximately 2.6M and peaking at 3.1M in early September before settling at around 2.7M by the end of the quarter.
