In the third quarter of 2024, the top entertainment apps on the Android platform in Europe showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at each app's performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies from WarnerMedia Global Digital Services, LLC reported a strong revenue increase, peaking at approximately $531.9K in late July. Downloads were highest in mid-July at around 550.6K, but saw a gradual decline towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 256.3K. Meanwhile, the app’s active users consistently grew, starting at 1.1M in early July and reaching 1.8M by the end of September.

YouTube Kids, although not generating revenue, maintained a steady download rate with a peak of 374.3K in early August. Active user numbers experienced a slight dip over the quarter, from 9.5M to 8.8M.

VK Video: shows, films, series saw a notable increase in downloads, hitting a high of 410.8K in early September. The app's active user base grew significantly, beginning at 1.2M in early July and climbing to 2.3M by the end of September.

Disney+ from Disney generated substantial weekly revenue, peaking at $3.4M in the final week of September. Downloads saw fluctuations, with a notable increase to 369.7K in mid-August. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 9.1M and ending at 9.1M, with a peak of 10.1M in mid-August.

Netflix did not report revenue but had stable download numbers, peaking at 264.1K in mid-August. Active users slightly decreased over the quarter, from 21.1M to 20.4M, with a low of 19.9M in mid-September.
