In the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the top five entertainment apps on Android in Egypt showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Cashewo: Short Videos & Social saw a varied pattern in its weekly revenue, peaking at about $165 in mid-July. Downloads fluctuated significantly, starting at over 102K in early July and tapering off to around 22K by the end of September. Active users mirrored the download trend, beginning with approximately 101K and ending the quarter with about 95K.

Yango Play maintained a more consistent revenue stream, ranging from approximately $1.9K to $3.4K weekly. The app experienced a sharp increase in downloads, jumping from around 47K in early July to nearly 137K by late September. Active users also grew significantly, reaching nearly 490K by the quarter's end.

Viu: Dramas, TV Shows & Movies exhibited steady revenue figures, with minor fluctuations between approximately $192 and $296 weekly. Download numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around the 55K mark towards the end of the quarter. However, active users showed a declining trend, dropping from about 335K to approximately 223K.
