In the second quarter of 2024, the top five entertainment apps in Brazil showcased varied performance metrics, according to Sensor Tower data. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user trends.

Globoplay: Novelas, séries e + from GLOBO COM. E PART. S/A exhibited a robust performance. Weekly revenue peaked at around $805K in early April and saw some fluctuations, ending June with approximately $792K. Downloads showed a significant rise mid-quarter, reaching 385K in the week of April 15. Active users generally hovered between 4.8M and 6.6M, with a notable peak of 6.5M in early April.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies from WarnerMedia Global Digital Services, LLC also showed strong performance metrics. Weekly revenue peaked at $468K in mid-June, while downloads were highest in mid-April at 804K. Active users grew steadily, starting from 4.1M in early April and reaching 6.6M by the end of June.

Disney+ maintained steady revenue throughout the quarter, with a notable increase to $353K in late June. Downloads surged towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 375K in the last week of June. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from around 2M in early April to 2.9M by the end of June.

Crunchyroll from Crunchyroll, LLC saw consistent weekly revenue, averaging around $160K. Downloads spiked in the last week of June, reaching 217K. Active user numbers were stable, fluctuating between 1.3M and 1.7M, with a peak in the last week of June at approximately 1.7M.

Star+ from Disney experienced a decline in active users from 3.7M in early April to around 2.4M by the end of June. Weekly revenue exhibited a downward trend, starting at $168K in early April and dropping to $16K in the last week of June. Downloads also decreased significantly, from 199K in early April to just 7.6K in the final week of June.
