Top 5 Entertainment Apps in Mexico Q1 2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw significant activity in the entertainment app space in Mexico. Let's take a closer look at how the top five apps performed.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies by WarnerMedia Global Digital Services experienced a remarkable launch. Weekly revenue skyrocketed to approximately $554K in the last week of February, reaching a peak of around $588K in early March. Downloads followed a similar trend, peaking at 1.3M in the first week of March. Active users surged from around 100K in late February to nearly 3M by the end of March.

ViX: TV, Fútbol y Noticias from Univision Communications Inc. maintained a strong presence. Weekly revenue began at $237K in early January and saw fluctuations, peaking at around $449K and ending the quarter at $284K. Downloads were steady, with a high of 346K in mid-February. Active users remained consistent, hovering around 1.2M for most of the quarter.

Netflix showed stable performance with weekly revenue fluctuating between $32K and $43K. Downloads were consistent, ranging from 204K to 277K weekly. Active users saw a slight decline, starting at approximately 11.4M in early January and ending at about 10.7M by the end of March.

TikTok continued to dominate the market. Weekly revenue peaked at around $462K in early March, while downloads remained strong, ranging from 661K to 935K. Active users consistently hovered around the 40M mark throughout the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video from AMZN Mobile LLC also had a steady quarter. Weekly revenue ranged from $21K to $37K. Downloads peaked at 168K in late January, and active users increased from approximately 1.3M to 1.5M by the end of March.
