As the first quarter of 2024 wraps up, Sensor Tower has provided a fascinating glimpse into the performance of the top 5 iOS book apps in the United States. Here's how these apps have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Audible: Audio Entertainment started strong with revenues reaching over $4.6M in the first week of January and maintaining a steady pace with slight fluctuations, ending the quarter with approximately $4.5M in the last week of March. Downloads saw a gradual decline from 155K to 100K, and weekly active users dipped from 1.8M to 1.7M throughout the quarter.

Libby, by OverDrive, while not generating revenue, showed a consistent pattern in downloads starting at 133K and ending at around 73K. The app's weekly active users started at 1.7M, with a slight decrease to around 1.6M by the end of March.

Amazon Kindle observed modest revenue figures, starting the quarter with $11K and closing with just over $7K. Downloads showed a downward trend from 122K to 66K, and active users started at approximately 2M, decreasing to 1.7M by the quarter's end.

Goodreads: Book Reviews saw a significant number of downloads at the beginning of January with 282K, which then settled to 36K by March. Weekly active users for Goodreads also saw a decline from 601K to 451K during the quarter.

Lastly, hoopla Digital experienced a steady trend in downloads, peaking at 40K in mid-January and slightly dropping to 30K towards March. Weekly active users remained fairly stable, starting at 436K and experiencing a peak at 455K mid-quarter before closing at 446K.
