Q1 2024 Performance of Top Book Apps on iOS in France

In the first quarter of 2024, book lovers in France continued to engage with their favorite reading and audiobook apps on iOS. Here's a look at how the top applications fared according to data from Sensor Tower.

Audible: Audio Entertainment saw a steady increase in revenue, starting at around $48K in the first week of January and peaking at $56K by the end of February. Downloads, however, showed a decreasing trend from approximately 15K to 6K, while weekly active users fluctuated, ending slightly lower at 127K compared to the start of the quarter's 146K.

La Bourse aux Livres - Vendre, despite not generating revenue, experienced an initial rise in downloads from 10K to nearly 10K in the second week, followed by a decline to around 5K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users reflected this pattern, dropping from 31K to 26K.

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories demonstrated a mixed revenue trend with an early peak of $8.6K, a mid-quarter dip, and a rebound to around $7.3K. Downloads began at roughly 10K, dipped to 6K, and then stabilized. The app's active users saw a decrease from 567K to 491K over the quarter.

Amazon Kindle had a notable anomaly with revenue recorded at $21 in one week of March, while the rest of the quarter showed no revenue. Downloads for Kindle started strong at 7K, declined mid-quarter, and ended at around 3.5K, with weekly active users experiencing a slight decrease from 113K to 96K.

Joyread-Fantasy Novel showed a downward trend in revenue, starting at $31.5K and ending at $17K. Downloads decreased from 8.5K to under 1K, and weekly active users dropped from 15K to 8.8K.
