As the first quarter of 2024 comes to a close, Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into the performance of the leading Books category apps on iOS in Europe. Here's how the top contenders fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and user engagement.

Audible: Audio Entertainment saw a consistent revenue stream, ranging from $786K to $907K, with a peak in the last week of February. Downloads showed a downward trend from 87.7K in the first week of January to 50.9K by the end of March. Weekly active users remained robust, starting at 882K and ending at 807K.

Amazon Kindle experienced modest revenue figures, which fluctuated from as low as $16 to a high of $53. Downloads for Kindle began at 67.3K and saw a decrease over the quarter, concluding at 39.9K. The app's weekly active users started strong at 857K but saw a gradual decline to 735K.

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories showed a varied revenue pattern with amounts ranging from $37.5K to $49.9K. Downloads decreased from 59K at the quarter's start to 39.2K by its end. Active users saw a slight decline from 3.1M to 2.8M over the quarter.

Lastly, Goodreads: Book Reviews focused on engagement rather than revenue, with download numbers beginning at 82.3K but falling to 16.2K by the end of March. The weekly active users also saw a decrease from 291K to 219K.
