Q1 2024 Performance of Top Books Apps on iOS in Australia

In the first quarter of 2024, the Books category on the iOS platform in Australia has seen varying performance among the top applications. Sensor Tower offers an insightful look into the data behind these trends.

Audible: Audio Entertainment maintained a steady revenue throughout the quarter, with slight fluctuations, ranging from $166K to $185K. Downloads showed a gradual decrease from 8.9K in the second week to 7.1K by the end of March, while weekly active users dipped from 137K to 129K.

Amazon Kindle experienced a notable spike in revenue during mid-March, reaching $330, although it had several weeks with no revenue at all. Downloads for the app decreased over time, from 8.5K in the first week of January to 4.6K in the last week of March. The weekly active users followed a downward trend, starting at 64K and ending at 57K.

Goodreads: Book Reviews did not generate revenue in Q1 2024. However, downloads started strong at 12.8K in the first week of January but saw a decline to 2K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users also showed a declining trend from 25K to 19K.

Libby, by OverDrive similarly reported no revenue. Downloads for Libby had a downward trend, from 4.6K to 2.9K, while weekly active users remained relatively stable around the 34K mark throughout the quarter.

BorrowBox Library also saw no revenue during this period. The app's downloads saw a decrease from 3.5K in the first week to just above 2K by the end of March, with weekly active users gradually decreasing from 21K to 19K.
