Q4 2023 Performance of Top iOS Book Apps in the UK

As the year wrapped up, the iOS platform saw varied activity among the top book applications in the United Kingdom for the fourth quarter of 2023. Here's how they fared according to data from Sensor Tower.

Audible: Audio Entertainment maintained a steady stream of revenue throughout the quarter, with a slight dip towards the end, closing at around $245K. Downloads saw an upward surge in the last week of December, hitting over 21K. The weekly active users peaked in early October at roughly 249K but showed a slight decline to around 235K by the end of December.

Amazon Kindle had no significant revenue to report, with the exception of negligible amounts in early November and late December. Downloads remained fairly consistent, averaging around 12K per week, but experienced a substantial increase to approximately 30K in the last week. Weekly active users showed a general increase, ending the quarter with over 184K active users.

Waterstones also reported no revenue. However, the app's downloads fluctuated, with an end-of-quarter spike reaching over 7K. Active users showed a steady increase, finishing the quarter at around 18K.

Goodreads: Book Reviews followed a similar pattern with no revenue. Download numbers for the app were variable, with a noticeable jump to over 13K in the last week. The weekly active users for Goodreads grew consistently, concluding with nearly 80K users by the end of December.

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories showed a more varied revenue pattern, peaking at $25K in late November and ending the quarter at around $12K. Downloads dipped mid-quarter but recovered to over 6K in the final week. The weekly active users experienced a high in mid-October at approximately 372K, before settling down to around 353K.
