Top 5 Entertainment Apps on Android in Kenya Q3 2023

Throughout the third quarter of 2023, the top five entertainment apps on the Android platform in Kenya showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Netflix maintained a consistent presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 23K and 35K. The app saw a peak in downloads in the week of September 11, hitting around 35K. Active users also exhibited stability, starting at approximately 497K in late June and ending at around 466K by the end of September.

Video Downloader and Player demonstrated a dramatic increase in downloads during July, peaking at nearly 50K in the week of July 24. However, downloads plummeted to less than 100 by mid-September. Active users followed a similar trend, rising to about 157K in early August before falling to around 103K by mid-September.

Video Download Player experienced a steady stream of downloads, with numbers ranging from 6K to 24K throughout the quarter. The highest download count occurred during the week of September 4, with approximately 24K downloads. Active users showed an upward trend, reaching a high of about 36K in early September.

ULT PLAYER and DOWNLOADER saw a consistent climb in downloads, starting at around 14K in mid-August and peaking at nearly 30K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this growth, beginning at around 8K and reaching over 41K by the end of the quarter.

MovieBox-Asian Drama,HD Movies showed a significant increase in downloads, starting at around 3K in late June and climbing to nearly 19K by the end of September. Active users grew steadily, beginning at approximately 5K and reaching about 26K by the end of the quarter.
