During the second quarter of 2023, the top entertainment apps on a unified platform in Kenya showed varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user trends for these leading apps.

Netflix saw a fluctuating revenue pattern, peaking at around $1.3K in early May and ending the quarter with approximately $1.1K. Weekly downloads for the app had an upward trend mid-quarter, reaching over 54K in the first week of May before decreasing to around 17K in early June. Weekly active users remained fairly stable, averaging around 500K, with a slight increase towards the end of June, reaching approximately 551K.

Video Downloader and Player experienced a significant decline in weekly downloads, starting from around 38K in early April to just over 2.5K by the end of June. Despite this, the app maintained a strong base of weekly active users, peaking at around 128K in mid-May before settling at approximately 86K at the end of the quarter.

YouTube Kids maintained a steady download rate, averaging around 9K weekly downloads throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained stable, averaging around 300K, with a slight increase towards the end of June, reaching approximately 315K.
