Top 5 Entertainment Apps on Android in Romania, Q1 2023

Throughout the first quarter of 2023, five entertainment apps dominated the Android platform in Romania. These were Disney+, HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies, AntenaPlay.ro, Verdict Dana Budeanu, and Twitch: Live Streaming. Here’s a look at their performance:

Disney+ saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at approximately $73.9K in the week of February 6. Weekly downloads started strong at 33.2K in late December but showed a declining trend, ending the quarter at about 11.6K. Active users, however, grew steadily, reaching around 295.9K by the end of March.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies had consistent weekly revenue, with figures ranging between $8.9K and $16.8K, peaking in the final week of March. Downloads experienced a drop from 11K in mid-January to about 5.7K by the end of March. Active users saw a decline from around 79.6K to 67.3K over the quarter.

AntenaPlay.ro maintained a stable weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $13.5K in the week of March 20. Downloads showed an upward trend, reaching around 4.5K in the same week. The app's active users grew from 5.7K at the start of the quarter to approximately 9.6K by March 20.

Verdict Dana Budeanu saw its weekly revenue peak at around $6.6K in the week of March 20. Downloads were relatively low, with the highest being 456 in the week of January 9.

Twitch: Live Streaming saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at approximately $3.3K in the week of January 9. Downloads remained fairly stable, averaging around 1.8K per week. Active users increased from around 179K to 235.8K by early February, then fluctuated to end the quarter at approximately 190.9K.
