During Q2 2022, the entertainment app landscape on iOS in Kenya saw significant activity. Here’s a closer look at the weekly performance metrics for the top 5 entertainment apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.

TikTok experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $2.7K in early May and ending the quarter at around $1.2K. Weekly downloads showed a notable increase, reaching 4.2K in the week of May 23, and concluding the quarter at nearly 4K. The app also saw a steady rise in active users, growing from 157K at the start of the quarter to 170K by the end.

Netflix showed consistent growth in weekly revenue, with a peak of about $2.1K in late May. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 1.1K mark throughout the quarter. Active users exhibited a slight upward trend, increasing from approximately 39K to over 40K by the end of June.

Showmax displayed a steady increase in downloads, starting at 355 and peaking at 572 in the week of June 20. Active users also grew steadily, from 2.1K in late March to 2.5K by mid-June.

DStv Stream saw a varied trend in weekly downloads, with a peak of 458 in mid-April but decreased to 136 by the end of June. Active users, however, remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 5.9K and 8.7K, ending the quarter at around 7.8K.
