The second quarter of 2022 showcased interesting trends for the top five entertainment applications on the Android platform in Romania. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated varied performance in weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $9.7K in mid-April. Weekly downloads showed a downward trend, starting from 40.4K in late March and declining to around 10K by the end of June. Active users saw a slight dip from 77.1K at the end of March to 65.1K by the end of the quarter.

Disney+ saw a significant spike in weekly revenue, reaching a high of $100.6K in mid-June and then tapering off to $47.8K by the end of the month. Downloads were robust, starting at 76.4K in mid-June and increasing to 82.5K by the end of the month. Active users also surged, growing from 46.9K in mid-June to 157.3K by the end of June.

Talking Ben the Dog showed a declining trend in weekly downloads, starting from 30.1K in late March and decreasing to around 5.9K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar downward trend, beginning at 70.9K and falling to 23.1K by the end of the quarter. The app did not generate significant revenue during this period.

Netflix maintained a relatively stable trend in weekly downloads, ranging from 7K to 15.3K throughout the quarter. Active users saw a slight fluctuation, starting at 677.9K in late March and peaking at 761K in late April before stabilizing around 710.9K by the end of June. The app did not report any revenue during this period.

ZEPETO: Avatar, Connect & Live experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, spiking to 29.3K in mid-May before settling around 6.8K by the end of June. Revenue remained modest, with weekly figures ranging from $40 to $137. Active users demonstrated an upward trend, peaking at 50.2K in late May and then stabilizing at around 31.3K by the end of June.
