In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 entertainment apps on the Android platform in Nigeria exhibited diverse performance metrics. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user trends for Netflix, AVO TV - Live and on-demand TV, MyGOtv, MyDStv Africa, and StarTimes ON-Live TV, Football.
Netflix experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 42K in early May. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at approximately 500K and ending the quarter at about 521K.
AVO TV - Live and on-demand TV saw its downloads rise to a high of 20K in early June. The app's active users showed a gradual increase from around 122K at the beginning of the quarter to nearly 138K by the end.
MyGOtv maintained a consistent download rate, averaging around 15K weekly. Active users, however, saw a slight decline from approximately 74K to 67K over the quarter.
MyDStv Africa had a notable download peak in late March with over 31K downloads, but this dropped to around 9K by the end of June. Active users decreased from about 202K to 150K over the same period.
