Top Entertainment Apps on iOS in Europe Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five entertainment apps on iOS in Europe demonstrated varied performance across key metrics. Here's a closer look at the trends for TikTok, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and discovery+.

TikTok showcased impressive revenue growth, peaking at approximately $5.9M in the final week of January. However, weekly downloads followed a gradual decline from 937K at the start of the quarter to 737K by the end of March. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users fluctuating around the 60M mark throughout the period.

Disney+ experienced steady revenue with a notable peak of $3.5M in the last week of March. Downloads saw a downward trend from 370K at the beginning of the quarter to 200K by the end. Active users showed a decline early in the quarter but rebounded towards the end, reaching 7.5M.

Netflix had a consistent revenue stream, peaking at $1.6M in the final week of February. Downloads decreased from 579K in the first week to 310K by the end of March. Active users also saw a decline from 25.7M to 21.8M over the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video maintained stable revenue, peaking at $829K in late February. Weekly downloads dropped from 310K at the start to 154K by the end of March. Active users saw a decrease from 4.8M to 3.6M over the same period.

discovery+ showed a significant spike in revenue in the last week of January, reaching nearly $800K. Downloads, however, remained relatively low, with a peak of 52K in early February and declining to 19K by the end of March. Active users increased from 123K at the start of the quarter to around 152K by the end.
