In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 entertainment apps on Android in the Middle East exhibited varied performance trends in terms of downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared:

YouTube Kids maintained a steady download rate, starting the quarter with approximately 50.6K weekly downloads and peaking at around 58K in mid-March. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 550K at the beginning of January to about 595K by the end of March.

Viu: Dramas, TV Shows & Movies experienced a decline in downloads early in the quarter, dropping from 73K to around 34K in January, but saw a resurgence in March, reaching approximately 45.6K. Weekly revenue remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations, peaking at about $1.4K in late February. Active users showed a gradual increase, from 328K at the start of the quarter to 293K by the end.

Netflix saw its weekly downloads decrease steadily throughout the quarter, starting at around 32.8K in early January and ending at approximately 22.3K in late March. Active user numbers also declined, from 1.53M to around 1.29M over the same period.

Taqtaqah طقطقة had an impressive increase in weekly downloads, especially in early February, when downloads surged to about 57.4K. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, growing from around 31.7K at the start of the quarter to a peak of 123K at the end of February, before settling at around 87K by the end of March.

Google Play Games showed a significant drop in weekly downloads from 70.9K at the beginning of January to approximately 10.8K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar downward trend, starting at 1.56M and decreasing to around 805K by the end of the quarter.
