Top 5 Entertainment Apps in Kenya Q4 2021

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top entertainment apps in Kenya saw varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insight into the trends of these popular applications.

Netflix experienced a generally steady revenue trend, with peaks at approximately $1.3K in early November and late December. Downloads saw an initial high of around 288K in the first week of October but gradually declined to about 44.5K by the end of December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 450K and 500K throughout the quarter.

Showmax 1.0 did not generate any revenue during this period. Weekly downloads started at 82K at the end of September, dropping significantly to around 9.6K by mid-October, and then slowly increased to approximately 20.7K at the end of December. Active users saw a decline from 316K at the start of the quarter to around 227K by the end.

K24 Plus saw no revenue generation as well. Downloads were minimal at the beginning of the period but surged dramatically to 149.9K in the week of December 20. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from just 60 in mid-October to over 177K by the end of December.

Vskit: Short Video, Link More also did not record any revenue. Downloads peaked at roughly 34.3K in early November before stabilizing around 16.4K by the end of December. Active users saw a peak of approximately 30.2K in early November and ended the quarter around 22.3K.

Viusasa did not generate revenue during this period. Weekly downloads started at 22.8K at the end of September and gradually decreased to about 6.8K by the end of December. Active users showed a declining trend from around 73.3K in late September to about 59.6K by the end of December.
