In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top 5 entertainment apps on Android in Kenya showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their trends.

Netflix saw significant fluctuations in weekly downloads. The app peaked at approximately 287K downloads in the week of October 4, followed by a decline to around 28K by early December, before ending the year with about 43K weekly downloads. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users ranging from around 414K to 460K throughout the quarter.

Showmax 1.0 experienced a more stable download trend. Starting with 82K downloads in late September, it saw a dip to around 9K by mid-October, but gradually increased, closing the year with about 20K weekly downloads. Active users showed a slight decrease from 314K at the start to 226K by the end of the quarter.

K24 Plus had a dramatic rise in downloads, especially notable in the last two weeks of December with downloads surging to approximately 149K and 147K respectively. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, with a significant rise from about 9.5K in mid-December to 177K by the end of the year.

Vskit: Short Video, Link More maintained a relatively steady download rate, peaking at around 29K in the first week of November. The app's active users fluctuated between 12K and 25K, ending the quarter with approximately 19K weekly active users.

Viusasa had a consistent download rate, starting at 22K in late September and maintaining around 6K to 8K weekly downloads towards the end of the year. Active users showed a gradual decline from 73K at the beginning to around 60K by the end of December.
