Top 5 Entertainment Apps on Android in Egypt Q4 2021

The fourth quarter of 2021 saw notable trends in the performance of the top entertainment apps on the Android platform in Egypt. Here’s an overview of the top five apps based on weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Viu: Dramas, TV Shows & Movies from Vuclip Mobile Video experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 108K in the week of December 20. Weekly revenue remained relatively stable, hovering around $400 throughout the quarter. The app also saw fluctuations in weekly active users, starting at around 621K in late September and peaking at 662K in mid-December before ending the quarter at approximately 629K.

ﺷﺎﻫﺪ - Shahid from MBC Group showed impressive growth in weekly downloads, with a significant peak of approximately 130K in early December. Weekly revenue also saw a boost, reaching around $2.1K in mid-December. The app’s active user base grew consistently, starting at nearly 100K at the beginning of the quarter and peaking at 263K in early December.

Google Play Games maintained a consistent weekly download rate, with numbers ranging between 58K and 98K. The app’s active user base saw a slight decline from around 1.5M at the beginning of the quarter to roughly 1.2M by the end of December.

YouTube Kids also showed stable performance with weekly downloads fluctuating between 33K and 55K. The app maintained a steady active user base, starting at approximately 189K and ending the quarter at around 199K.

ZEPETO: Avatar, Connect & Live from Naver Z Corporation saw a dramatic increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 79K in late November. Weekly active users also surged, reaching a high of approximately 171K in early December before stabilizing at around 148K by the end of the quarter.
