Top 5 Entertainment Apps on Android in UAE Q4 2021

Throughout the fourth quarter of 2021, the top 5 entertainment apps on Android in the United Arab Emirates showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an insightful look into the trends of these popular apps.

Mahzooz experienced significant fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting with 7.1K downloads at the end of September, the app saw a peak of 19.7K downloads in early November before settling at 11.8K in the last week of December. Active users for the app showed a steady increase from 20.5K at the end of September to a high of 41.1K by mid-November, ending the year at approximately 31.5K.

Google Play Games maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout Q4, starting at 7.3K downloads in late September and closing the year with 7.6K downloads. The active user base fluctuated slightly, peaking at 146K in late November and ending the quarter with around 138K active users.

YouTube Kids also showed consistency in its performance. Weekly downloads hovered around 5.4K to 6.5K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 6K in the final week of December. Active users grew steadily from 43.9K in late September to 62.5K by the end of December.

Netflix saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 5.4K at the end of September and peaking at 9.2K in the week before Christmas. The active user count, however, showed a slight decline from 272K in late September to around 252K by the end of December.

Viu: Dramas, TV Shows & Movies had the most notable increase in downloads, starting with 2.8K in late September and reaching 10.4K in the final week of December. The active user base also saw a significant rise from 27.2K at the end of September to 36K by the end of December. Weekly revenue for Viu showed a consistent increase, peaking at $377 in the week before Christmas.
