In the third quarter of 2021, several book applications on the iOS platform in Australia demonstrated notable performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Audible: Audio Entertainment saw a significant rise in weekly revenue throughout the quarter, peaking at about $101.9K in the final week of September. Weekly downloads for the app also increased, reaching approximately 11.1K in the last week. Active users showed a steady climb, from around 117K at the start of July to about 132K by the end of September.

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, with a high of around $16.8K during the week of September 20. Downloads fluctuated slightly but remained fairly consistent, with a peak of 6.4K at the beginning of the quarter and around 5.6K by the end. Active users, however, saw a gradual decline from about 309K to 265K over the quarter.

Amazon Kindle showed stable download numbers, with a peak of 5.5K in mid-July and ending the quarter at around 5.3K. Active users remained steady throughout the quarter, averaging around 50K.

BorrowBox Library maintained consistent download numbers, with minor fluctuations and a peak of approximately 2.5K in early August. Active users for the app hovered around 15.6K, showing little variation over the quarter.

Hooked saw a dramatic increase in weekly downloads, peaking at about 6.9K in mid-August before declining sharply to 259 by the end of September. Weekly revenue also showed an upward trend, peaking at around $1.7K in mid-September. Active users spiked to 7.3K in mid-August before dropping to 816 by the end of the quarter.
