In Q3 2021, entertainment apps on the Android platform in Nigeria demonstrated varying performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive view of these trends.

Showmax 1.0 showed a remarkable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 19K at the end of June and peaking at approximately 85K by the end of September. The app also saw a steady rise in weekly active users, from 210K to about 325K during the same period.

Netflix maintained a consistent download rate, beginning the quarter with around 21K downloads per week and reaching a peak of nearly 49K in late August. The active users fluctuated but ended on a positive note, increasing from approximately 494K to 552K over the quarter.

Google Play Games experienced a stable download trend, with weekly downloads ranging from 25K to 34K. Active users remained robust throughout the quarter, starting at around 3.28M and ending slightly lower at 3.16M.

MyGOtv saw a significant boost in weekly downloads, starting at 12.5K and reaching over 30K by the end of September. Active users also increased, beginning at 76K and closing at approximately 108K.

MyDStv Africa displayed a notable upward trend in weekly downloads, from 7K at the start of Q3 to nearly 34K by the end of the quarter. Active users grew steadily from 141K to 205K during the same timeframe.
