Q4 2020 Performance of Top iOS Book Apps in Australia

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Australia's iOS platform saw varying performances among the top book applications. Sensor Tower's data offers a closer look at these trends, highlighting the downloads and weekly active users for each app.

Audible: Audio Entertainment experienced a steady increase in revenue towards the end of Q4, with a peak of approximately $1.3M in the week of December 21. Downloads showed a gradual increase, ending the quarter with roughly 8.7K downloads. Weekly active users dipped in November but climbed back up to around 122K by the end of December.

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories showed significant revenue fluctuations, with a high of nearly $9.6K in mid-December. The app's downloads decreased through October but then gradually increased, reaching over 5.6K by the end of December. The weekly active users saw an overall upward trend, finishing the year with nearly 191K users.

Amazon Kindle maintained a steady number of weekly active users through the quarter, starting with around 50K and ending with 55K. Downloads saw a notable increase in December, ending with over 5.2K.

BorrowBox Library did not generate revenue, but downloads remained consistent, with a slight increase to around 2K by the end of December. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with approximately 16K users.

Libby, by OverDrive also had a consistent number of downloads through the quarter, peaking at around 1.7K in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users showed an overall upward trend, ending with over 17K users.
