As the first quarter of 2023 concludes, we've taken a closer look at the performance of the leading consumer finance applications on Android in Europe. This analysis, derived from Sensor Tower data, provides a snapshot of user engagement and download trends.
Google Wallet started the quarter strong with around 383k downloads in the first week of January and peaked in mid-March with approximately 440k downloads. The app maintained a steady base of weekly active users, starting at around 4.2 million and ending the quarter with about 4.6 million.
T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş., the publisher behind Ziraat Mobile, saw a slight dip in downloads from around 237k at the end of December to roughly 118k in the second week of January. However, the app experienced a spike in mid-February with over 182k downloads. Weekly active users remained high, starting at close to 9.9 million and ending the quarter just shy of 9.3 million.
Sparkasse Ihre mobile Filiale showed a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with a high of about 44k in the first week of January. The weekly active users for the app showed growth, rising from approximately 4.5 million at the end of December to nearly 4.9 million by the end of March.
The Send App (Prev. Send) experienced its highest number of downloads in the third week of January with over 82k new users. Active users reflected this growth, peaking at around 126k in the last week of January. The quarter ended with a slight decrease in downloads to around 14k and active users at approximately 123k.
Lastly, BancoPosta saw a steady number of downloads, with a peak at the beginning of January at nearly 46k. Active users showed a more varied pattern, reaching a high of around 1 million in the second week of January and closing the quarter with approximately 879k active users.
