In the final quarter of 2022, wellness apps continued to play a significant role in the digital habits of users across Latin America. Sensor Tower's comprehensive data provides us with a glimpse into how these apps fared during this period.
Calm saw a steady revenue trend, ending the quarter with around $30k, a slight increase from the beginning of the quarter. Downloads for Calm peaked at around 16k in early October but dipped to approximately 10k by late November, before rebounding to around 20k by the year's end. Weekly active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a high of around 430k in early October and closing the quarter at roughly 412k.
Meditopia: AI, Meditation experienced a decrease in revenue from around $30k at the start of the quarter to about $22k by the end. The app's downloads saw a high of around 18k in late October, with a general downward trend to roughly 14k by mid-December, followed by an uptick to around 18k in the final week. Weekly active users saw a peak of over 330k in early November but ended the quarter with around 309k.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation maintained a consistent revenue trend, with figures hovering between $23k to $25k for most of the quarter. Downloads for the app started at around 5k and grew to nearly 8k by the end of December. The app's weekly active users show a slight increase from approximately 43k to 44k over the three-month period.
ShutEye®: Sleep Tracker, Sound demonstrated a varied revenue trend, peaking at around $12k in mid-October, followed by a decrease to about $6k by the quarter's close. The app's download numbers were the most volatile, with a dramatic increase to nearly 50k in early October, then dropping to around 13k by the end of December. Weekly active users peaked at around 50k in early October, with a decrease to approximately 27k by the end of the quarter.
Lastly, Sleep Cycle - Sleep Tracker showed a revenue trend starting at around $9k and dipping to approximately $6k by the end of December. Downloads for the app started at around 7k, dipped to about 4k in late October, and then increased to roughly 6k by the year's end. The weekly active users saw a slight decrease from around 148k in late September to approximately 127k in late December.
