The first quarter of 2023 has been eventful for the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) category on Android in the Latin American region. Sensor Tower data provides us with a performance overview of the top 5 MOBA applications, showcasing their downloads, revenue, and weekly active user trends.
Honor of Kings started the quarter with impressive download numbers at around 1.4 million, which then saw a decline to around 379k by the end of March. Revenue followed a similar trajectory, peaking at around 51k in the second week of March and falling to nearly 22k towards the end of the quarter. Weekly active users also showed a downward trend from around 1.2 million to approximately 733k.
Brawl Stars experienced steady revenue throughout the quarter, with figures ranging between 94k and 138k. Downloads remained consistent, hovering around the 120k to 140k mark. Weekly active users, however, saw a gradual decrease from around 7 million at the start of the tracking period to about 5.2 million by the end of March.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang maintained a stable revenue with a slight peak at around 178k in mid-March. Downloads saw a significant spike at around 235k in the third week of February but settled to around 119k by the quarter's close. Pokémon UNITE saw fluctuating revenue, with a high of around 44k at the beginning of the tracking period and a low of around 17k by the end of March. Downloads peaked at over 93k in early March but experienced a drop to nearly 60k towards the quarter's end. Weekly active users demonstrated a decline from around 591k to approximately 414k.
Lastly, League of Legends: Wild Rift showed a varied revenue pattern, with a peak of around 181k in early January and a drop to about 104k by the end of March. Downloads were relatively stable, with a slight decrease from around 56k to 41k. The trend for weekly active users declined slightly from just over 1 million to around 844k.
