As the first quarter of 2023 comes to a close, Sensor Tower's data sheds light on the performance of the top consumer finance applications on Android in Latin America.
Nubank: conta, cartão e mais maintained strong momentum with downloads peaking at around 755,000 in the last week of March, showing a significant increase from the beginning of the quarter. The app's weekly active users also showed a rising trend, with numbers growing from around 34.7 million to approximately 38.3 million.
Mercado Pago: cuenta digital experienced a fluctuating pattern in downloads, starting the quarter with around 546,000 downloads and dipping to about 432,000 by the end of March. The weekly active users for the app remained relatively stable, starting at around 22 million and closing the quarter slightly higher at nearly 23.6 million.
For PicPay: cartão, conta e pix, downloads varied across the quarter, with a high of over 321,000 in early February and a low of around 249,000 in mid-March. Weekly active users saw a slight decline from around 12.7 million at the end of December to approximately 12.4 million by the end of March.
The CAIXA app showed a downward trend in downloads, with a peak of around 273,000 in early January and decreasing to about 198,000 by the end of March. The weekly active users presented slight fluctuations, with a starting point of about 11.9 million and ending the quarter with around 11.7 million.
Lastly, Santander Brasil had its highest number of downloads in the last week of January, reaching approximately 263,000, and saw a decrease to about 169,000 by the end of March. Its weekly active users started the quarter at around 9.4 million and ended with a slight dip to just under 9.9 million.
