A New Look at Gaming: The New Video Game Insights Interface
VGI has a brand new user interface, plus multiple key additions that make the platform more expansive, more intuitive, and more actionable for your game. Let's walk through them all, with screenshots.
At Sensor Tower, we are committed to building the most robust, unified platform for gaming market intelligence. Today, we are taking a significant step forward by elevating the Video Game Insights (VGI) interface to be in alignment with the core Sensor Tower frontend.
The new interface is much more than a simple refresh. It is about creating a cohesive, reliable experience that deeply connects VGI to the broader Sensor Tower ecosystem. Our goal with this redesign is to continue supporting your current workflows, while enabling all users to interact with gaming data in new ways.
New capabilities releasing with the new VGI UI:
Change in Wishlists: Break out wishlists by new wishlist additions, deletions, and purchases
Compare Reports: A new reporting option that helps you dynamically compare and visualize metrics across different titles
Market Size Reports: We’ve merged Market Data and Genre Analytics into a coherent, consolidated report that highlights market-level data in one place
Language Localization: To better support our global teams, we are introducing localized interface text, making the power of VGI accessible in more regions
New capabilities coming soon to the new VGI UI:
PlayStation & Xbox in-game spend: Analyze a console game’s revenue break out between premium revenue and in-game spends
Game adspend data: Track how much games are spending on advertising and how adspend correlates to performance shifts
Elevated Experiences:
Consolidated Charts: View all revenue types, free v. paid games, daily v. monthly active users, and more – all in one chart.
Country-level Insights: Apply country-level filtering for time-series data and isolate market-level trends.
Consistent Visualization: Move seamlessly between VGI and other Sensor Tower products with consistent navigation and data visualization options.
Our Commitment to a Smooth Transition
We understand that VGI is a critical part of your daily intelligence gathering. To ensure this migration is as smooth as possible for our current users, we are following a phased rollout:
September 15th, 2026: The refreshed VGI interface becomes the default view for new users, while existing users have the option to opt-in to the new interface.
October 15th, 2026: The new interface becomes the standard experience for all users, offering a more robust and streamlined platform. Users will still have the option to toggle back to the legacy interface during this time.
December 2026 - January 2027: We will fully transition users to the new, modernized VGI interface. The legacy interface will no longer be available after this point.
