FinTech App Recap 3Q22

CashApp experienced strong user growth in 3Q22, with over 51 million monthly active users (MAUs) (+9% YoY) due to its diverse offerings. PayPal's shares fell over 7% after providing lower 4Q revenue guidance due to a weaker holiday shopping season. Sensor Tower estimates show that MAUs on PayPal and Venmo in 3Q22 were +4% and -4% YoY, respectively. CashApp users are more loyal than Venmo and PayPal, with 8% of users opening the app every day in 3Q22. Active users on BNPL apps Klarna, Afterpay, and Affirm continue to climb. Affirm lowered fiscal guidance due to underperformance of Peloton.
