4Q22 Gaming Round-Up
Mobile gaming struggled to match the highs of 2021, with Western publishers seeing their portfolios and bookings slide. Roblox and AppLovin reported an optimistic outlook, while traditional game publishers Take-Two and Electronic Arts cut forecasts. EA was boosted by FIFA, but the rest of its portfolio struggled, while Take-Two's mobile bookings were also down. However, the diverse mobile portfolio obtained from buying Zynga allows for exposure to sub-genres that have done well in the past. The upcoming Shooter Report will address the recent Apex Legends cancellation.
