In the third quarter of 2025, the top five news applications in Portugal showed varied performance trends on a unified platform, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Público experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $6.2K and dipping to $4.1K mid-quarter before closing at $5.9K. The app's downloads saw a notable rise towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 534, while weekly active users remained relatively stable around 11K.

Observador also demonstrated revenue fluctuations, beginning at $6.6K and ending at $5.7K. Downloads remained consistent, mostly in the range of 250 to 300, with active users gradually decreasing from 10.2K to 9K.

X showed a dynamic trend with a peak in downloads reaching 10.7K in early September. Revenue varied throughout the quarter, peaking at $7.9K in late July. Despite a strong start, active users declined from 768K to 540K by the end of September.

Expresso maintained steady downloads, averaging around 350 to 380, while revenue showed minor fluctuations, peaking at $2.4K in early September. The app's weekly active users exhibited a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 5.5K.

The Economist - News, Podcasts experienced a steady revenue decline, starting at $2.1K and ending at $1.5K. Downloads were modest, ranging from 70 to 150, with active users remaining stable around 800.
