In the second quarter of 2025, the top news applications in the Netherlands on the iOS platform displayed varied performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Reddit showed a dynamic pattern in weekly revenue, peaking at about $589 in early June. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of approximately 4.9K in early April, tapering to around 2.4K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 317K to 337K throughout the quarter.

NOS, a prominent app from the Netherlands, had consistent weekly downloads, with a notable spike to 6.6K in late June. Active users maintained a strong presence, peaking at around 926K in the same period.

The app X experienced a healthy increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $18.1K in early June. Downloads saw a moderate rise mid-quarter, with a peak of about 3.6K in mid-June, while active users fluctuated between 442K and 482K.

Substack observed modest revenue, peaking at around $67 in mid-June. Weekly downloads saw a gradual decline, starting at 3.4K in early April and ending at 2.1K by June’s close. Active users increased steadily, reaching just over 25K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, NOS Teletekst had a sharp decline in downloads after an initial high of 12.2K in early April, settling around 335 by the end of June. Active users showed a downward trend, starting at 136K and ending at approximately 96K.
