In the second quarter of 2025, the top five news applications on the iOS platform in Nigeria showed varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower.
X from X Corp. experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at about $8K in late April. Weekly downloads saw an increase in the same period, reaching around 18K, while active users slightly declined from 2.1M to 2.05M.
Reddit showed minimal revenue with a slight increase towards the end of June. Downloads decreased steadily from 5.4K to approximately 2.6K. However, its active user base grew from 45.8K to just under 50K.
Quora had no recorded revenue, with downloads remaining stable but low, averaging around 800 weekly. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at about 25.3K.
Substack saw negligible revenue changes, while downloads decreased from 1.1K to 507. Active users, however, increased steadily, reaching nearly 11.8K by the end of June.
