In the first quarter of 2025, the top utilities applications on iOS in Kenya demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers insights into the trends and user engagement of these apps.

Google showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from 3K at the beginning of the quarter and peaking at approximately 5.1K in mid-March. Its weekly revenue fluctuated, with notable peaks in early February and mid-March, reaching $66 in one of the weeks. Active users consistently grew from 254K to 273K by the end of March.

Google Chrome maintained a consistent download pattern, ranging between 2K and 3K throughout the quarter. While it did not generate revenue, its active user base slightly increased, ending the quarter with approximately 325K active users.

Truecaller: Premium Caller ID experienced stable revenue, averaging around $800 weekly, with a peak of $954 in early February. Downloads remained steady, varying between 1.5K and 2K, while active users showed a gradual increase, closing the quarter at nearly 239K.

TokenPocket: Crypto & Bitcoin had a significant spike in downloads mid-March, reaching 12.3K, which corresponded with an increase in active users, peaking at 9.2K. However, the app did not report any revenue.

Cleanup: Phone Storage Cleaner maintained consistent revenue, averaging around $1.3K weekly. The app’s downloads decreased over the quarter, from 1.1K to 1.1K, while active users fluctuated slightly, ending at 657.
