In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top news applications in Australia showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a breakdown of the trends for the leading apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Reddit experienced a consistent weekly revenue stream, peaking at around $3K at the beginning of October. Weekly downloads hovered around 24K, with a slight dip towards the end of December, while active users increased slightly, ending the quarter at approximately 1.48M.

X demonstrated a notable surge in weekly revenue, peaking at $122K by late November. Downloads also saw a mid-quarter boost, reaching 24K in early November, but tapered off to about 15K by the year's end. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 1.9M.

VicEmergency saw a significant rise in downloads, with a peak of 36.9K in late December. The app's active user base grew substantially, reaching 470K towards the quarter's close.
