The fourth quarter of 2024 saw varied performance trends among the top news applications on the iOS platform in Nigeria. Data from Sensor Tower reveals insightful metrics on downloads, revenue, and user engagement.

X from X Corp. showed a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $10.5K in late November. Weekly downloads fluctuated significantly, reaching a high of 46K in early November. Active users remained robust, with numbers hovering around 2.1M throughout the quarter.

Reddit experienced minimal revenue changes, maintaining a steady pace. Downloads saw a gradual decline, starting from 3K in early October to about 2.4K by the end of December. However, active users increased, peaking at approximately 53K in mid-December.

Quora did not generate revenue during this period but maintained a consistent download rate, with a peak of 2.6K in mid-November. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with around 33.8K.

Opera News: Breaking & Local also reported no revenue but saw stable download numbers, peaking at 783 in late October. The app's active user base showed a modest increase, concluding the quarter with approximately 36.8K users.

Finally, Substack recorded a minor revenue increase with a peak of $4 in December. Downloads remained relatively low, with a notable uptick to 580 in the last week of December. Active users showed a steady rise, reaching around 6.2K by the end of the quarter.
